"Unable to create a session object. The workstation may have been corrupted" after running workstation setup

After running workstation setup you may receive the error message - "Unable to create a session object. The workstation may have been corrupted" .

This can be caused by several issues:

1. Improper installation of workstation setup - try re-running wksetup.exe logged in as a user with full local administrator rights.

2.  Installing workstation setup as a user with administrative rights and then immediately logging off (without starting mas90) and logging back on as a user without administrative rights and attempting to start mas90.

To resolve this issue, log in as a user with full local administrator rights, run the workstation setup, start mas90 for the first time. After running mas90 for the first time you should then be able to log out and use mas90 as a user without local administrative rights.

Be sure that you are logged in with LOCAL administrative rights and NOT domain administrative rights.

If neither of these suggestions work, be sure to review the related question(s) below.
