You may experience difficulty adding a new user to version 3.xx and giving them security rights to log into MAS 90 or MAS 200.
Note: This problem has gone away in version 4.xx with the new role based security.
This is NOT a MAS 90 error, rather it's a symptom of not selecting the right security access for your user.
Here are some items to review:
1. Print a copy of your menu security -- this is done from Library Master - Seucrity - Menu Security Maintenance. You can click the printer icon ini the lower right corner to print out all of your security.
DO NOT TRY TO DEBUG 3.xx SECURITY BY LOOKING AT THE SCREENS. YOU WON'T GET THE TOTAL PICTURE - YOU NEED TO LOOK AT A REPORT.
2. Check security access for the module S/A (Library Master) -- make sure that if other users have access to the main menu and specific modules that your new user does too. This is where 99.9% of the mistakes happen.
Example:
Company Code: PDQ
Module: S/A
Access is given to users for modules off the main menu (which by default locks everyone else out) -- but when you add a new user you forget to add them in here as well.
Note: Be sure to test all changes to system security thoroughly prior to implementing the changes.
