Sage MAS 200 hangs at splash screen on one or more workstations

If using Sage MAS 200 you may experience the following symptom:

After double clicking the MAS 200 icon on a workstation, the splash screen launches and hangs without any error or other message.

The following steps may help you diagnose this issue:

1. Make sure you can ping the server both IP and Name - this rules in/out a connectivity problem

2. Make sure you can PING THE WORKSTATION having the problem. In many instances a Windows (or other program) update can modify the firewall settings. For proper MAS 200 operations you MUST be able to ping the workstation from the server.

3. Replace the server name with the IP address in the local sota.ini (Note: This will be the SOTA.INI found on the local computer not the server -- do a search - it will be in the mas90\home\launcher folder)

4. Determine if other workstations can login -- if so then the problem is isolated to this one station -- if not look at the system as a whole -- the first suspect should be sy0ctl.soa. Try restoring this from a backup.
