Wayne Schulz is the founder of Schulz Consulting. He began his career working for two professional service organizations and managing their consulting divisions. He has been active not only with the implementation of Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 accounting software but often is engaged to help clients design or evaluate their current accounting procedures.
The philosophy of Schulz Consulting has been built around one of being a consulting firm first and a sales company last. This is evidenced by Wayne’s unwavering claim that he is the world’s worst salesman but perhaps one of the top at providing client service to his loyal base of clients (many of who have been with him since 1986).
Source Media has awarded Schulz Consulting with the Accounting Pacesetter award for 2005 through 2008. This award acknowledges companies and individuals on the leading edge of consulting both in terms of company size and ideals.

What’s Unique About Wayne Schulz and Schulz Consulting?
Starting in 2007 Wayne became active in the online world known as blogging. His mornings start at 4:30 am where he assumes the role of Senior Editor of the popular web site Geardiary.com. He is responsible for reviewing and approving technology articles as well as writing his own stories.
He operates a free MAS 90 and MAS 200 email newsletter list that has well over 2,000 subscribers. This publication is mailed on the first and fifteenth of every month and contains tips and tricks for MAS 90 and MAS 200 users.
Wayne’s philosophy on consulting is broken down into a few simple concepts
- Schulz Consulting doesn’t do “onesies and twosies” – if we’re not an expert in an area – we’ll fully disclose this prior to either making a referral to someone we know and are confident in.
- Ongoing support relationships are best delivered through a prepaid plan rather than a series of surprise bills sent to a client
- Always think three to five years ahead when purchasing any software. If what you are buying fits your needs today – consider whether it will still be relevant in three to five years. If the answer is no, then don’t buy the solution – even if it’s one that Schulz offers.
- Clients should be able to access any type of support resource that’s available to them and their consultant should fully explain resolutions to problems (when the client is interested in knowing) so that in the future they have the information to self-support if they desire.
- Purchasing software based on a shootout where 5 vendors show up and slash prices is probably the worst decision a company could make.
- Software price is the least important part of the sale – if the fit’s not good then what you saved on the software is irrelevant
- Low priced software consultants are worth what you pay for them
